Martin (Mattie) Gannon (Retired Garda Sergeant) Muckinish, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare and formerly of Luimnagh, Corrandulla, Co. Galway, 24th June 2026, peacefully after a short illness at Galway University Hospital. Pre-deceased by his parents Michael (Mick) and Molly Gannon, Uncle Pattie and baby sister Gertrude.
Mattie will be sadly missed by his sons Declan, Cathal, Mossy and Ivan, daughter Linda, and their mother Kathleen, brothers Tommy, Padraic, Michael and John, sisters Mary, Teresa, Anne, Freeda, Gertie and Geraldine, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Carey’s Funeral Home, Claran Road, Headford (H91 E6X9) on Friday evening June 26th from 6pm until 8pm. Arriving at St Patrick and St Cuana Church H91 V9F7 (Corner Chapel), Kilcoona on Saturday June 27th for requiem Mass at 1.30pm. Burial afterwards in Donaghpatrick Cemetery. Mass can be viewed live on www.churchtv.ie/corner-chapel. Family flowers only by request. Donations if desired to ICU Galway.
