Cyclist in his 30s dies following collision in Kilkenny

A cyclist in his 30s has died following a collision with a car in Co Kilkenny on Wednesday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the collision which occurred on the L100 Tullaroan Road, Loughmacask, Kilkenny, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

The cyclist, in his 30s, was initially taken to St Luke’s General Hospital Carlow Kilkenny before being taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment of serious injuries. However, he was pronounced dead yesterday evening.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Gardaí said a technical examination of the scene was carried out.

They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who were travelling on the L100 Tullaroan Road, between 5pm and 6pm on Wednesday 24 June, and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), are asked to make it available to gardaí.
