An investigation is under way after a man in his 20s was seriously injured when a firearm was discharged in Dublin on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred at Shancastle Close in Clondalkin at around 8.50pm.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
GardaĆ said a forensic examination of the scene has been carried out.
They are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
In particular they are asking anyone who was in the Greenfort and Shancastle areas of Clondalkin, Dublin 22 between 8.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday 1 July, or anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam), to contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 01 666 7700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
