Heartbreaking tributes have poured in for a ‘proudly alternative and creative’ young Dublin woman who has sadly passed away following a brave illness battle.
Sara Kelly, from Finglas in north Dublin, passed away at St. James’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, fiancé and friend on Monday, June 29, following a two-year battle with cancer.
Sara’s family confirmed the devastating news on a notice shared on RIP.ie, where they described the young woman as the “beloved fiancé of John Harbron and cherished daughter of Rosaleen. Predeceased by her father, Martin. Sara had her own unmistakable style and spirit, proudly alternative and creative, kind-hearted and unforgettable.
“She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her heartbroken fiancé John, her loving mother Rosaleen, brother Aidan, MJ and Poe, her stepfather Derek, John’s parents Ken and Irene, her dear friends Katie, Aoife, Dave and Colm, her godmother Georgina, aunts, uncles, cousins, her large circle of friends, her many clients, her neighbours and all who knew and loved her.”
Sara worked as a hair and makeup artist
Sara’s heartbroken fiancé John has celebrated the life of his soon-to-be wife with a touching tribute shared on social media, as he announced the tragic death of the young make-up artist and hairdresser.
“It is with the heaviest & most broken of hearts that I want to let people know that my world, my love, my everything, my Sara, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer, passed away this afternoon at 1.45pm,” he wrote.
“She was in no pain & didn’t suffer. She was surrounded by family, lifelong friends & all the love that she deserved.
“My heart is completely shattered & even typing these words doesn’t feel real.
“I will never be the same without Sara. Thank you for the best 17 years of my life as my partner & more as my friend.
“I will never spend another second of my life without you in my thoughts. I will love you forever. I will miss you forever.
I love you Sara, now & always. All the love in the world. Your very broken hearted John.”
A number of Sara’s friends and clients from her work as a hair and makeup artist have shared their own tributes to the popular young woman.
A funeral Service will be held for Sara on Saturday
One person said: “I had the privilege of being one of Sara’s Clients for over 6 years. She was one of kind with such a beautiful, creative and warm soul. I’ll miss all my amazing chats with Sara in the studio and I’ll treasure them forever. She was and always will be one of the most amazing humans ever. Sending my deepest condolences to John and all of Sara’s Family in this devastating time.”
While another mourner added: “I’m still in shock hearing this news. I spent endless hours in Sara’s chair getting various bits done and always looked forward to it. She was a very creative soul that just got what I wanted. Such a kind, genuine person, whos passing will leave a definite hole in my heart. Sleep well.”
Sara will lie in repose at Michael Doyle Funeral Home on Saturday, July 4, from 11am, with removal later to Dardistown Crematorium, arriving for a 1.30pm for her Funeral Service.
