Louis Tomlinson has announced his third studio album “How Did I Get Here?,” releasing on Jan. 23, 2026.
To coincide with the announcement, the former One Direction member has dropped his new single “Lemonade,” which he’s been teasing over the past few weeks. For “How Did I Get Here?,” Tomlinson initially came up with song ideas in the English countryside before heading to Santa Teresa in Costa Rica for three weeks earlier this year, working on the project with co-producer Nico Rebscher (Alice Merton, Aurora).
In a statement about the album, Tomlinson said, “I sum up it as ‘The record I always deserved to make.’ My bread and butter is my honesty. I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope it comes through in the music. I’m still learning and getting better as a singer and a songwriter. I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I’m allowing myself to be the artist I’d
always hoped to be.”
Up next, Tomlinson will stage “The Away From Home Festival” on Oct. 4-5 at the Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, New York. He personally curated the event himself and will co-headline with Lauv, with additional performances from Steve Aoki, Plain White T’s, Daya, Pale Waves, Circa Waves and DJ Zach Sang.
Following his tenure as one-fifth of One Direction, Tomlinson released his debut solo album “Walls” in 2020. He last put out a studio project in 2022 with “Faith in the Future,” led by the single “Bigger Than Me.”
