Renivaldo Figueiredo Lima, 55, was arrested in Ireland after being on the run for 14 years
This Brazilian rapist at the centre of a worldwide manhunt for almost 15 years has been arrested – after he was found working on an Irish farm.
The Irish Mirror has confirmed that Renivaldo Figueiredo Lima is now locked up in Dublin’s Cloverhill Prison following his arrest – and is set to be deported back to his home country in the coming weeks to finally face justice.
Lima, 55, has been on the run from his native Brazil since he fled the country in 2012 – shortly before he was convicted of raping a minor.
He was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice – which means cops from the organisation’s 190 member states are asked to arrest the suspect if they spot him.
Sources tell us Lima, who is believed to have been living in Ireland for at least a decade under a false identity, was arrested after gardai were tipped off that he was working on a farm in Co Cavan.

Officers established that he had false documents and he was then arrested by detectives from the Garda National Immigration Bureau at the end of April.
He has been in Cloverhill Prison ever since on foot of a deportation order. That is likely to be executed in the coming weeks and he will soon be flown back to his native Campos Belos on north east Brazil.
Brazilian cops had been hunting Lima for more than a decade and earlier this year got Interpol, the world-wide policing agency with some 190 member countries, to issue the Red Notice against him.
That is an appeal for cops in member countries to arrest the fugitive on site.
Ireland has no extradition agreement with Brazil, so officers could not arrest him specifically over the Red Notice.
But they were able to arrest him on the immigration offences – and that’s what they did.

“He was not arrested for extradition as there is no treaty,” a source confirmed.
“But he is being held after Immigration arrested him that is for deportation.
“So, no matter what, he is going back to Brazil.
The Red Notice was issued on April 7 – and gardai arrested him on April 20 following the anonymous tip off.
Reports first emerged of Lima’s arrest in Ireland in Brazilian media this week.

The Anhanguera TV channel said Lima had spent years in Ireland.
They said he repeatedly moved around the country and used false identification to stay in the shadows.
They said he was arrested in Wexford, but sources here say it was actually on a farm in Cavan.
The TV channel also said he had spent time in Ballina in Co Mayo.
