Hollywood is taking the scenic route to the north west next weekk as the cast and crew of Isle of Man arrive in north Sligo for filming.
The film, starring Channing Tatum and Irish actors Eve Hewson and Ciarán Hinds, is due to be filmed on the scenic coastline on 15th and 16th July.
Backed by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, the movie is a racing drama set around the Isle of Man TT, the world-famous motorcycle race regarded as one of the most dangerous and demanding events in motorsport.
The production has been welcomed for putting Mullaghmore in the international spotlight.
Local councillor Marie Casserly said: “While there will be some temporary traffic management during filming, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the beauty of Mullaghmore and County Sligo to a global audience, while also supporting local tourism and businesses.”
Sligo County Council has confirmed that a temporary road closure will be in place to facilitate “the safe holding of filming associated with an international feature film”.
Isle of Man is directed by Reid Carolin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Keller and Bryan Johnson. The film is being produced by Carolin and Tatum through Free Association, alongside Brad Pitt’s Plan B, Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady and Keller.
Hinds recently joined a cast that also reportedly includes May Calamawy, Ruaridh Mollica and Éanna Hardwicke.

The production has already attracted plenty of attention, with Brad Pitt spotted on the Isle of Man last month as filming got underway. Scenes have also been filmed in Wicklow in recent weeks.
For Donegal film fans, Ciarán Hinds’ involvement adds an extra local connection.
The Oscar-nominated actor, widely praised for his supporting role in Belfast, is no stranger to Donegal.
In 2022, he spent months in the south west of the county filming alongside Liam Neeson in the thriller In the Land of Saints and Sinners.
He also returned to Donegal for The Three Urns, the road-trip comedy which filmed in more than 40 locations across the county, including Ramelton, Raphoe, Dunfanaghy and Buncrana.
