The public is being advised of traffic and parking restrictions in parts of Letterkenny today ahead of two graveyard services in the town this Sunday 12th July.
A service is being held at the Old Leck graveyard at 3pm, followed by a service at New Leck graveyard at 4pm.
Gardaí are asking that all fit and able-bodied people who plan to attend the services walk to them.
For anyone who has to drive, Gardaí will implement a one-way traffic system along the Leck Road towards Cullion Crossroads.
All vehicular traffic approaching Leck graveyard from the Oldtown direction and parking along Leck Road, past Lismonaghan Hill Junction are also requested to park facing in the direction of Cullion Crossroads.
Drivers are requested not to park in graveyard gateways in the event of an ambulance needing access. Disabled parking will be available in the graveyard and when exiting same, a left turn towards Cullion Crossroads only will be permitted.
“Due to the large numbers expected, please leave in good time to arrive for the services,” a garda statement said.
“Your assistance and patience is very much appreciated.
“May they rest in peace.”
