While a number of Ireland players have already moved during the summer transfer window, we are still waiting to hear updates on some of the more high profile members of Heimir Hallgrimsson’s squad.
Troy Parrott is still expected to leave AZ Alkmaar, although the Dubliner did return to pre-season training with the club in recent days. Elsewhere, the likes of Chiedozie Ogbene, Seamus Coleman, and Sammie Szmodics have yet to sort out their futures.
Then you have Evan Ferguson. The Meath man is still sidelined with a serious ankle injury, one that could keep him ruled out until as late as October.
As a result, it is unclear where his immediate future lies. He has returned to Brighton this summer but looks unlikely to be part of their plans for next season, while a move elsewhere is complicated by his injury.

Turkish outlet Sabah are reporting that Galatasaray are interested in signing Evan Ferguson this summer after being offered the player by an agent.

The Istanbul club are in the market for a striker this summer, having been close to signing former Aston Villa man Jhon Duran. That deal has now been put on ice due to the financial demands involved.
It is said that Galatasaray now view Evan Ferguson as an alternative option.
Brighton would be open to allowing the player to leave on loan this summer, most likely with an option to buy. Roma rejected the chance to sign the Irishman for €40million this offseason after an injury hit loan spell in Serie A last season.
Could a move to Turkey revitalise Evan Ferguson?
A move to Turkey would certainly be an interesting prospect.
Galatasaray are an enormous club with massive ambitions, having splashed quite a bit of cash in recent seasons. The likes of Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane have been signed to massive contracts as the club look to establish themselves as the dominant force on the domestic scene and make an impact in European competition.
They won the Turkish Super Lig last season and will play in the Champions League during the upcoming campaign, offering Ferguson that chance to feature in that competition for the first time.
From an Ireland point of view, it would be great to see Ferguson get a consistent run of games under his belt for the first time in a number of seasons in 2026/27.
