Two cars have been towed away and multiple fines have been issued by Gardai to motorists parked illegally at Shroove Beach today, Monday.
Councillor Martin Farren told Donegal Daily he has received confirmation that Gardai attended the area today and took action on motorists parked on double yellow lines.
There has been widespread frustration in recent days and weeks as the road to and from the beach was blocked by parked vehicles.
Yesterday, (Sunday), a local bus company was, once again, forced to cancel one of its routes as it could not access the area,
Today, they confirmed that all 953 and 957 services through Shroove to Greencastle had again been suspended.
In recent weeks, Donegal County Council painted double yellow lines to and from the Big White Bay to discourage motorists from parking along the road, but this was not adhered to.
Earlier today, Donegal County Councillor and Inishowen Cathaoirleach Martin Farren said those parking illegally were putting lives in danger, as they could block emergency vehicle access to the beach.
This evening, he confirmed that two vehicles were towed from the area and more than 10 fines were issued.

He said that Gardai will also be out in force tomorrow to clamp down on those illegally parking.
Cllr Farren thanked Gardai for their work in recent days and in the days ahead ‘to ensure safety’.
He urged all motorists, ‘once again, to be responsible’ and ensure access for all emergency service vehicles.
He asked that noone park on double yellow lines and reminded motorists that they can and will be fined.
