Over 20 years on from their falling out at Manchester United, it is clear that Roy Keane has never quite forgiven Alex Ferguson for the way his career at the club was brought to an abrupt halt.
The Cork man was unceremoniously dumped from Old Trafford due to his comments about the team after a loss to Middlesborough, which came during an unaired segment on MUTV.
Keane felt he was unfairly treated at the time and has never spoken to Ferguson since. Two decades on, it seems he is least able to have a good laugh at the situation.

When Gary Neville compared his character in the HBO show to Alex Ferguson, it drew a very funny reaction from Roy Keane.
Neville: In Succession you’re a little bit like Sir Alex Ferguson actually!
Cox: I know Alex.
Neville: It’s a few of the expletives.

Keane: You don’t need to tell me that.
Cox: Well you (Keane) have suffered from his unremittingness I’m sure?

Alex Ferguson & Brian Cox share similar backgrounds
For those of us who have watched Succession, you can certainly see the similarities in the two characters.
Brian Cox and Alex Ferguson are of a similar vintage, having both been born in Scotland in the 1940s. Whereas the former described himself as ‘hopeless’ at football despite his love of the game, Ferguson went on to carve out a stellar career in the game.
Perhaps he took a little bot of inspiration from Fergie’s infamous ‘hairdryer’ when it came to his time in Succession. Roy Keane clearly wasn’t impressed with the comparison.
