Shelbourne have confirmed that midfielder Harry Wood has joined Stockport County for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old, who first joined Shels from Hull on loan in 2023 before signing permanently a year later, has signed a three-year deal, subject to international clearance, with the League One side – who lost the play-off final to Bolton Wanderers in May.
Wood’s departure will be a blow for new Shels boss John Russell with games to come in the FAI Cup and Conference League.
It’s County’s second Irish signing in recent weeks with defender Eoghan O’Connell joining from Barnsley at the end of June.
Wood had contributed 10 goals and five assists for Shelbourne this season and the Tolka Park outfit offered him a new contract to remain, but he opted to return to England.
He scored the winning goal – his first of the season – on the final day of the 2024 campaign against Derry City to secure a first league title in 18 years for Shelbourne.

Wood will link up with Jimmy McNulty’s first-team squad on Monday, following the team’s return from San Pedro del Pinatar.
