Stephen Bradley believes a historic Conference League night proves that the League of Ireland has become the ‘shining light for Irish football’ and is hopeful that the exploits of Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne are sending a positive message to Government ahead of next week’s budget.

For the first time ever, two Irish clubs will be involved in the league phase of a European competition with Rovers in Czechia to take on Sparta Prague in their Conference League opener while Shelbourne are back in Tallaght opening their campaign against Swedish side Hacken.
