Six people were assisted by lifeboat and Coast Guard crews overnight, when their yacht took on water in Killala Bay, off the Mayo coast.
Ballyglass RNLI personnel were tasked just before 10pm last night, after the alarm was raised.
Two of those on board were taken from the yacht by a crew from Killala Coast Guard, with the other passengers remaining on the vessel.
Conditions at the time were cloudy with a fresh northerly wind. The call out came amid a Met Éireann marine warning for north to northwest winds, reaching force 6 at times.
After an initial assessment, a decision was made to take the yacht under tow to Killybegs.
A fishing vessel in the area and Killybegs Coast Guard also assisted, with aerial support from the Sligo-based Rescue 118 helicopter.
The lengthy operation concluded at 6.10am this morning, when the yacht was brought safely to harbour.
