Joe reckons Spain will come out on top on Sunday night.
After 3,200 games, the 2026 FIFA World Cup final is finally upon us with Spain and Argentina battling it out for all the marbles on Sunday night.
Spain dominated France in their semi-final while Argentina came from behind to net two late goals against England to secure their spot in the final in New Jersey.
Once again, we have Joe Cole on hand to give some expert insight but he doesn’t want to talk about England’s semi-final exit so don’t even bother asking…

Spain have been sensational at this World Cup. They’re so organised and they’ve cruised through really. They haven’t got out of second gear as they didn’t have to, even against France in the semi-finals.
We’ll see how good they are on Sunday though against Lionel Messi and Argentina.
It’ll be such an interesting game but I’m on Spain to win (in 90 minutes). There hasn’t been a team that’s been able to disrupt their rhythm for longer than 15 minutes so I can’t go against them.
I’m also expecting a lot of action. I’m hoping it’s a belter so I’m on over 3.5 goals.
The superstar players have really turned up this tournament and that should happen again with all the marbles on the line on Sunday night.
Lamine Yamal to score or assist and Messi to score or assist are worth getting behind.
There isn’t anything else we can say about the Argentine. He’s simply sensational and he’s the heartbeat of this side. He’ll be heavily involved as per usual.
Yamal may have slightly underperformed by his incredibly high standards but the Barcelona man is due a breakout game and what better stage to do just that?
Finally, there will be fouls so Rodrigo De Paul to commit 1+ fouls and Leandro Paredes to commit 1+ fouls are my final Bet Builder selections.
De Paul and Paredes are always involved in that midfield battle and we saw against England that those Argentina players aren’t afraid to get stuck in!
