Eoin Macken, Róisín Gallagher, and Amy Huberman have joined the cast of Boys of Tommen, Prime Video’s upcoming romantic drama series based on the bestsellers Binding 13 and Keeping 13 by Irish author Chloe Walsh.
Boys of Tommen “follows the forbidden love story of Johnny Kavanagh (played by Conor Sánchez), the star rugby player on the verge of a pro career, and Shannon Lynch (played by Nancy Surridge), the talented but painfully shy new girl at the prestigious private school of Tommen College” in the fictional Irish town of Ballylaggin.
The Night Shift’s Macken will play Teddy Lynch, The Dry star Gallagher will play Marie Lynch, and Harry Wild’s Huberman will play Edel Kavanagh, “the parents whose choices shape the lives of the young leads”.
The series was announced earlier this year and is being directed by Brendan Canty, who was behind the lens for the award-winning Irish coming-of-age film Christy and the video for Hozier’s Take Me to Church.
The cast also includes Jamie Schneider as Patrick Feely, James Craven as Pierce O’Neill, James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs, and John Hewson as Gerard Gibson.
Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan, and Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry complete the cast of the series, which is now in production.
Series one has been adapted by Poppy Cogan, whose previous work includes A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and it will draw on the first two books in Walsh’s series.
The drama is being produced by wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Metropolitan providing local production services.
Boys of Tommen will be released exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
