An e-scooter user has died following a collision with a car in the early hours of the morning in Co Meath while a man in his late teens has died following a car crash in Co Tipperary.

In Co Meath, the collision occurred at around 1.45am on the Kentstown Road in Navan.

The driver of the e-scooter, an unidentified male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to the mortuary in Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan. The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, and a passenger aged in his 20s, were both uninjured.

The road has been closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users who were travelling in the area between 1.00am and 1.45am, and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), to make it available to gardaí.

Man in his late teens dies in Tipperary crash

Meanwhile, a man in his late teens has died following a car crash in Co Tipperary.

The crash occurred on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, Thurles, Co Tipperary, at around 3.45am.

The driver of the car, a man in his late teens, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.

The road is currently closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users who were travelling in the area between 3:00am and 3:45am, and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), are asked to make it available to gardaí.
