Ulysse Nardin reimagines astronomical watchmaking through the sharp, geometric lens of its Blast platform with the Blast [Moonstruck].

Continuing the intellectual legacy of master watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin’s astronomical trilogy, the instrument projects planetary cycles from a geocentric perspective, translating the intricate mechanics of our solar system into an intuitive wearable display.

At the center of the aventurine glass dial sits a three-dimensional representation of the Northern Hemisphere, engraved beneath a domed sapphire structure. Orbiting this central Earth are dual elliptical tracks carrying depictions of the Sun and Moon, illustrating their real-time positions alongside a high-precision moonphase indicator that requires adjustment only once every 40.3 years. Beyond celestial positioning, the dial integrates a 2zone worldtimer, lunar month date tracking, and real-time tidal coefficient indicators driven by the gravitational pull of the Sun and Moon.

Encased in a bold 45 mm frame forged from black DLC-treated titanium and ceramic or 18k rose gold, the watch is driven by the manufacture automatic Caliber UN-106. Constructed with 335 components, a silicon escapement, and a silicon hairspring, the movement features a patented time-setting system operated via dual pushers at eight and ten o’clock, allowing wearers to adjust local time in one-hour increments without disrupting the underlying astronomical calculations.

The cosmos, captured and commanded in high-tech titanium.
