In June 2025, RTÉ aired an investigative report on two nursing homes; Beneavin House, or Manor, in Dublin and The Residence, Portlaoise.
It found that since January 2022 there had been 198 notifications of abuse at Beneavin Manor in Glasnevin in north Dublin. There had also been 40 notifications of allegations of abuse at The Residence Portlaoise since December 2023.
