Highly-Rated Ireland Youngster Finally Makes Tottenham Senior Debut

18-year-old Republic of Ireland international Mason Melia has made his first appearance for the Tottenham senior men’s team.

Melia signed for Spurs from St Patrick’s Athletic in January 2025, having made 98 appearances across all competitions for the Inchicore side.

He came on as a substitute in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Sydney FC in a pre-season friendly in Australia.

Tottenham won the game 4-2 on penalties with Luca-Williams Barnet, Sandro Tonali, Andy Robertson and Dane Scarlett hitting the net from the penalty spot.

Roberto De Zerbi is to take a closer look at Mason Melia, with the Tottenham striker preparing for the club’s pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Melia has so far not been linked with any loan moves or transfers away from North London but upon their return from pre-season manager Roberto De Zerbi is expected to make a call on what his plans are for the Wicklow native for the upcoming season.

Melia scored three goals in six appearances their U21 side the Premier League 2.

Melia made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland senior team earlier in the year in friendlies against Qatar and Canada.
