Zach Chard-Ryan has died unexpectedly following a sudden illness

The stepson of TV presenter Pamela Flood has died unexpectedly following a sudden illness.
Zach Chard-Ryan, from Clontarf, died peacefully following a sudden illness, according to his death notice on RIP.ie. His father is prominent restaurateur Ronan Ryan, who is married to Pamela.
Zach was Ronan’s son from an earlier marriage, reports RSVP Live.
“It is with great sadness we announce Zach’s unexpected but peaceful passing, surrounded by love, following a sudden illness, in the care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Beaumont Hospital.
“Adored son of Andrea Chard and Ronan Ryan, treasured grandson of Anne, Gerry and Mary, much-loved brother of Harrison, Elsie, Gracie, Lee, Gill and Jodie, loving stepson of Pamela and Darren, and loving boyfriend and best-friend of Izzy,” the notice stated.
“He will be very sadly missed by his devastated parents, girlfriend, siblings, grandparents, stepmother, his aunt and uncles, extended family, his many friends and his colleagues and the many people for whom he cared through his work with Dublin Simon Outreach.”
Pamela is a former Miss Ireland winner and an RTÉ presenter, most recognised for hosting The Podge and Rodge Show and Off The Rails. Ronan, on the other hand, is a prominent restaurateur originally hailing from Tipperary.
Zach’s rugby club, Clontarf Rugby Club, honoured Zach with a tribute shared on social media.
“We are all deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Zach Chard-Ryan, one of those genuinely lovely souls who we were privileged to have represent us in the red and blue, from the underage ranks, through to being a member of our 2021/22 AIL winning squad.
“Words alone cannot express our sympathy to Zach’s parents, girlfriend, siblings and extended family at this dreadful time, but on behalf of all of members in Clontarf Rugby Club, we offer our deepest condolences. Rest in Peace Zach,” they said.
