Tens of thousands of people have attended this year’s Bray Air Display, the 19th edition of Ireland’s biggest aviation event.
It featured Team Raven, one of the biggest civilian air display teams in the world along with parachutists from the Defence Forces Black Knight team, wing walkers and historic aircraft.
There is a Future of Flight zone where virtual reality headsets let people experience what it is like to pilot a drone and in real life drone displays.
A small fire in a green area between the beach at Bray and Bray head was extinguished quickly this afternoon before the Bray Air Display started and did not have any impact on the event.
Organisers told RTÉ News that they believe the fire was started deliberately but a fire-fighting helicopter was in the area for the air display and quickly put out the fire before it could spread by dropping water on it.
There are some road closures in the Co Wicklow town and organisers are asking those attending the free event to get there by walking, cycling or using public transport if possible.
There are two official carparks with free shuttle bus services to the seafront and those bringing their car are advised that parking regulations will be enforced in town where parking spaces will be limited.
