A man was brought to hospital following a medical emergency but was later pronounced deceased

GARDAÍ have issued the following statement to the Anglo-Celt following enquiries about an incident at around lunchtime today in Cavan Town centre:
“Gardaí and emergency services responded to a medical emergency involving an adult male in Cavan Town shortly after 1pm on Sunday, 2nd August 2026.
“He was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
“The Coroner has been notified and inquiries are ongoing.”
The Celt understands that foul play is not suspected.
