A man has been injured and an investigation is under way following the discharge of a firearm in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
Gardaí say the incident happened in Dunlo at 3.15am this morning.
The man, who is in his 20s, was brought to University Hospital Galway with non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene is preserved for technical examination and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the Cúlán Eiscir Riada area between 2.30am and 4am and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact them.
