A 39-year-old man, who has been charged with the murder of Yveta Donovalova in Waterford city just over three months ago, has been sent forward for trial.
Tomas Marvanek appeared before Waterford District Court this morning and was served with a book of evidence.
Mr Marvanek of Grange Heights, Waterford city, is charged with the murder of Ms Donovalova at the same address on 27 April.
Ms Donovalova was discovered with serious injuries at her home in the Grange Heights housing estate that evening.
The 43-year-old mother-of-three was subsequently taken to University Hospital Waterford, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Today, Mr Marvanek was also further charged with assault causing harm. The court was told that this assault arose “from [the] one and same incident”.

The court heard that 3 July was the date that the Director of Public Prosecutions consented to Mr Marvanek being sent forward to the Central Criminal Court to face trial.
Solicitor Ken Cunningham applied for free legal aid in the form of one senior counsel and one junior counsel and this request was granted by Judge Mark O’Connell.
The judge also told Mr Marvanek that he would have to give the prosecution at least 14 days’ notice should he intend to use an alibi as part of his defence.
The judge then remanded the accused in custody to appear before the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court.
Mr Marvanek was present in court for this morning’s brief hearing. He had the proceedings translated to him by a Czech translator.
