WALLINGFORD, CT — The owner of a wellness facility in Wallingford will run more than 55 miles from the Massachusetts – Connecticut border on Saturday in support of mental health.

Tim “TJ” Dowling, licensed mental health counselor, endurance athlete, and founder of Synergy Health & Wellness in Wallingford, will run from the Massachusetts–Connecticut border in West Suffield to Long Wharf in New Haven, where land meets the Long Island Sound.

The route spans more than 55 miles from north to south and will be completed in a single day as part of the Cross Connecticut Challenge for Mental Health Awareness on Sept. 6.

“I’ve seen firsthand how deeply mental health impacts every part of life,” Dowling wrote in a post on his fundraising page for the event. “Running across Connecticut is my way of raising awareness, breaking stigma, and showing that strength and healing are possible when we take care of both our bodies and our minds.”

Dowling, a five-time Ironman and psychotherapist of over 15 years, founded Synergy Health & Wellness, located at 202 North Plains Industrial Rd. in Wallingford, to offer a new kind of care.

“Through his trademarked Synergetic Therapy, clients experience a blend of psychotherapy, fitness training, nutrition coaching, and wellness tools like sauna and cold plunge — all designed to support mind-body transformation,” according to a news release.
