The death has taken place in London of Richard Joseph Butler (fondly known to many as Dick Butler), at 88 years of age, on 27 August 2025.
On 20 March 1937, Richard was born to Richard and Mary Butler in Raheenduff, Adamstown, County Wexford.
He was a beloved father to Mary, Richard, Alan and Bernadette, and a devoted grandfather to Leanne, Conor, Richard, Megan, Sean, Patrick, Finley, Cian, Niall, Riley and Shay.
Richard was a proud Wexford man who played hurling and was a lifelong member of the London Wexford Association.
He had a great sense of humour to the end and loved listening to South East Radio with a pint of Guinness in his hand.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret McLaughlin (Culdaff, Donegal), his brother John, sisters Mary and Jo, his brothers-in-law James, Bill, Patrick, Tommy, Sean and Jim, and his sisters-in-law Roseline, Carrie and Annie.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Kathleen and Geraldine, brother-in-law Pierce, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Richard’s remains will arrive at the Muff border at approximately 2.30pm on Monday (September 8th) to continue to The Mill, Culdaff (F93 X4HW), where you are all welcome to pay your respects.
Funeral from there at 10.30am on Tuesday (September 9th) for 11:00am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.
