People across Ireland will have the chance to witness a rare partial solar eclipse this evening, with a similar event not expected to be visible here again until 2090.
The Moon will begin passing in front of the Sun shortly after 6pm, with the eclipse reaching its peak just after 7pm.
Between 94 and 98 per cent of the Sun is expected to be obscured, depending on where you are in the country.
Viewing events are also being organised at locations around Ireland to mark the rare celestial event.
