A man operating a stop/go sign in Tralee was allegedly punched in the face by a motorist in the middle of the day last week.
It’s one of several assaults in the town within the last week which gardaí are investigating.
Gardaí say a man operating a stop/go sign at a local road works on Killeen Road in Tralee was assaulted by a male driver, who exited his vehicle and punched him in the face.
The incident happened at approximately 12:40 in the day last Wednesday 12th August.
Gardaí say the injured party sustained swelling and bruising to his face as a result, and they’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They say the man who was punched didn’t get the number of the car.
Separately, on Thursday night at the Island of Geese at about 9:20, a man in his 20s was assaulted by a group of youths, who approached him and his friends.
The youths were not known to them, and it’s believed to have been an unprovoked attack.
The man in his 20s suffered minor facial injuries, including a cut to his lip.
Yesterday at around 9:40pm, a man was headbutted in the face, causing a minor injury to his eye, near Circle K and McDonald’s in Rathass, Tralee.
Gardaí believe there likely would have been people around the area who may have witnessed the incident and have yet to come forward.
