BBC Radio Scotland is introducing an exciting new music strand to its daytime schedule, bringing exclusive performances and artist interviews to audiences across the country.
Launching on Wednesday 26 August, the Radio Scotland Sessions will be a regular monthly feature on Afternoons presented by Grant Stott. Each session will see artists perform three tracks from Studio 1, BBC Scotland’s dedicated music performance space at its Pacific Quay headquarters, alongside an interview with Grant.
Performances will include a current release, a signature track from the artist’s catalogue and a specially selected Scottish cover version, offering listeners a fresh and personal insight into the music they love.
One of Scotland’s most successful rock bands Twin Atlantic, will kick off Radio Scotland Sessions, with acclaimed singer-songwriter Callum Beattie, BBC Introducing’s Scottish Act of Year Alice Faye, and iconic Scots band Altered Images lined up to perform in the Autumn.
Following broadcast, each session will continue to reach audiences across the station’s wider output, including The Quay Sessions. Performances will also be filmed and shared across BBC Radio Scotland’s digital and social media channels, extending their reach to audiences online and creating further opportunities for artists to connect with fans.
