A number of designated centres have received positive reports from HIQA.
The reports were released today and showed that the centres were largely compliant with regulations.
Overall, nine designated centres in the North West had inspection results released today by HIQA.
The inspections took place from the 31st of March to the 26th of May of this year.
Of the nine centres up for inspection, six were in Sligo, two were in Donegal and one was in Leitrim.
Governance and management, in addition to communication, risk management and standard of care was seen as a positive in nearly all of the centres audited.
Some areas of concern for the inspectors included staffing and resident’s rights in a centre in county Sligo, fire precautions in a centre in Donegal as well as fees payable by the residents to a separate centre in Donegal.
