Dublin Metropolitan Region South Roads Policing Unit of An Garda Síochána have seized a motorbike being driven dangerously.
Gardaí say that four youths were driving recklessly on motorbikes in close quarters to a family and child. One of the youths was caught by Gardaí and their vehicle was seized.
The youths were on a public road, and fled into a nearby forest when Gardaí approached. The driver of the seized bike had no driving licence or insurance for the motorcycle, and was not wearing a helmet.
Gardaí said that the vehicle was seized under Section 109A of the Road Traffic Act.
“DMR-S RPU were on patrol this afternoon when they observed a group of youths driving dangerously on a public road with a family and young child in close vicinity” Dublin Gardaí said via Facebook.
“All youths were wearing tracksuits and only had a helmet on. Protective clothing is not a legal requirement but highly advised. All four youths fled upon sight of Gardaí.

Gardaí continued to patrol the area and managed to stop the driver of this motorcycle as they attempted to abscond into a nearby forest.”
The driver had no driving licence or insurance for the motorcycle. The vehicle was seized under Section 109A of the Road Traffic Act and proceedings to follow.”
