Naomh Conaill have scored another celebrity fashion moment after US pop star Gracie Abrams was pictured sporting the club’s shorts in a Rolling Stone shoot.
The iconic blue and white shorts feature in images photographed by Laura Jane Coulson and styled by Spencer Singer for the singer-songwriter’s Rolling Stone cover story.
Abrams discusses her childhood, songwriting and relationship with Irish actor Paul Mescal in the feature.
It’s believed that Oscar nominee Mescal is to thank for Gracie’s superb fashion choices.
Mescal was gifted some Naomh Conaill gear in 2021 while he was working in south-west Donegal filming the drama God’s Creatures alongside Emily Watson. The film aired on RTE One on Sunday last.
Mescal made headlines the following January when he was photographed wearing the club shorts on the streets of Fitzroy in Melbourne, Australia.
Naomh Conaill proudly shared the pictures at the time with the simple message: “Good man Paul.”
The Kildare actor became a regular visitor to the Brew in Thru coffee van at the Salmon Leap in Teelin during his stay and also supported efforts to replace the flood-damaged footbridge in Carrick.

Mescal famously helped turn GAA shorts into an international fashion statement after the success of Normal People, regularly wearing O’Neill’s gear during public appearances and photoshoots.
It seems Abrams is now following his lead by bringing Naomh Conaill’s colours onto one of the biggest stages in music publishing.
