An Army bomb disposal unit was called to the scene of a suspicious device near a concert site on Tuesday afternoon.
The device was discovered at Bow Lane in Kilmainham at around 3pm. The scene is not from from IMMA where a Deftones concert was taking place this evening.
The area was cordoned off while Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal attended the scene. Gardai also attended the scene.
Access to the gig was not affected during the operation but heavy traffic was reported in the area as a number of roads were closed due to the concert taking place and the Defence Forces operation.
The device was removed by the Army team and the scene was cleared with the cordon now lifted.

A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: “Gardaí attended the scene following report of a suspicious device in the St James, Dublin 8 area on Tuesday 25th August 2026 that occurred at approximately 3:00pm. The area was cordoned off and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene.
“The device has been removed from the scene by the Army EOD for further examination and the cordon has been lifted. Investigations are ongoing.”
A Defence Forces spokesman told Dublin Live: “This afternoon, bomb disposal experts from the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team responded to a request for assistance from An Garda Síochána in relation to suspected device found in the Kilmainham area of Dublin.
“Following an assessment by the EOD team, a device was removed from the scene, and the scene was handed over to AGS. This operation has now concluded.”
