EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (26 August), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders has aired a shocking development in the current storyline involving Amy Mitchell and Craig Ingram. In recent weeks, Amy has grown closer to the dodgy detective, and in a huge twist, the teen confessed to him that she attacked Joel.
Craig pledged to keep quiet and later told Amy that he took himself off the case to avoid a conflict of interest – but viewers know that he was in fact suspended from public policing after several gross misconduct complaints against him.

Meanwhile, this week Amy was hopeful about rekindling her relationship with her ex Denzel when the pair made amends after the fallout over Denzel’s kiss with Avani.
But after being discouraged by his dad, Denzel turned down Amy’s advances. Heartbroken Amy got a lifeline though, when Craig comforted her and asked her out for a drink – even though she is underage.
In today’s episode, Craig checked on Amy in the morning, amid her worries about step-mum Denise. He manipulated the situation and suggested calling off their drink later, but Amy insisted that she still wanted them to meet up.
Amy got dressed up into an outfit that made her look older and headed to Container Junction, swiftly brushing off Denzel’s attempts to apologise for rejecting her.
Craig later arrived and offered to buy Amy a drink, but while she asked for a single gin and soda, he went and secretly ordered a double measure for her instead.

Amy opened up to Craig about Denzel, and about feeling left out of the loop in the family when it comes to Denise’s illness. Craig advised her not to let Denzel get in her head and ordered her another drink.
By the time they left, Amy was drunk and even stumbled as she stood up. As they moved somewhere more private, Craig made clear to Amy that he cares about her – and the pair kissed.
Viewers are already concerned about the inappropriate nature of Amy and Craig’s relationship, especially as Amy is under 18. But after this kiss, will it spiral into something even more dangerous?
