HSE South West is encouraging parents across Kerry to take part in their RSV Infant Immunisation Programme.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common winter virus that can cause serious illness in infants, particularly during their first season.
Free immunisation will be offered through maternity hospitals and GP practices.
Babies born between 1 September 2026 and 28 February 2027 will be offered RSV immunisation in maternity hospitals before discharge where possible.
The HSE is building on last year’s successful programme, which was found to have significantly reduced RSV-related presentations to the emergency department.
