Lola Young made a surprise appearance on the Main Stage as Electric Picnic moved into its second day at Stradbally, while CMAT returned for of Saturday’s most anticipated sets.
Rain and increasingly muddy conditions were part of the picture on Saturday, but festival-goers were out in force across the Co Laois site as another packed day of music got under way.
One of the day’s biggest surprises came from Lola Young, who was added to the Main Stage line-up for an afternoon set and drew a rain-soaked crowd for a performance which included her hit Messy.
Later, CMAT returned to the festival after cancelling a performance in France the previous night because of illness. She opened her Main Stage set with Jolene in tribute to Dolly Parton before delivering a high-energy homecoming performance.
Across the rest of the site, Damien Dempsey, The Undertones, Jessie Murph, The Stunning, Kyla Cobbler, Audrey Hobert, Oklou, The Scratch, Eleanor McEvoy and FeliSpeaks were among the many artists performing throughout the day.
Gorillaz brought Saturday’s Main Stage programme to a close as Electric Picnic headed into its final day.
From the stages to the increasingly muddy fields, see some of the best pictures from day two of Electric Picnic in our gallery.
