Strictly Come Dancing fans were distracted after a ‘jumpscare’ in the studio audience for the first live show of the series.
The hit BBC One dance contest actually returned to screens last weekend with the pre-recorded launch show, as the 15 new celebrity contestants were introduced to viewers for the first time.
However, on Saturday night (September 27), the competition truly got underway with the first live show of the series, as the new couples took to the floor with their first routines.
But first, there was a performance from the judges who took Strictly viewers through the decades. Anton Du Beke donned a wig along with a tuxedo and tails with a look from the 1970s, while Shirley Ballas sparkled in a black sequin dress to represent the 1980s.
Meanwhile, Motsi Mabuse was seen wearing black in a look straight out of the 1990s, and Craig Revel Horwood was seen modelling four different costumes for the show.
But it was soon time for hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to take to floor and officially introduce week one of Strictly 2025, before the judges took their seats and the dancing got underway.
It was former rugby star Chris Robshaw who was first out alongside his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova, with them performing a Samba to Unbelievable by EMF.
Pete returned to the Strictly ballroom
But, Strictly fans were also busy looking in the studio audience, and spotted a very familar face – Pete Wicks who took part in the competition last year.
While he may have been in the ballroom to support his former dance partner Jowita Przystal, who is new paired with TV star Ross King, his best pal Vicky Pattison is also take part in the much-loved show this year, with her professional partner Kai Widdrington.
