They spent decades welcoming guests to Harvey’s Point, one of Donegal’s best-loved hotels.

Now Deirdre McGlone and Marc Gysling are preparing to welcome Channel 4 viewers into their new life in France.

The former hoteliers are set to feature in the new series of Help! We Bought A Village, which begins on Channel 4 on Monday, 7th September.

In 2019, Deirdre McGlone and Marc Gysling sold Harvey’s Point, the Lough Eske hotel they had spent three decades building into one of Ireland’s best-loved hospitality destinations.

They then turned their attention to southwest France, where they are restoring Le Moulin sur Célé as a family-run luxury villa collection.

Marc and Deirdre’s considered restoration projects will be featured across four episodes of the series airing from Monday, 14th September to Thursday, 17th September.

Deirdre McGlone and Marc Gysling will appear in series 5 of Help! We Bought A Village on Channel 4, which airs at 4pm from Monday

Announcing the news, the couple said the show will offer a “behind-the-scenes glimpse into our story — the work, the heart, the family moments, and the beautiful rhythm of life here in the Lot Valley.”

They added that they were “feeling proud, grateful, and excited to open this window into our world.”

Help! We Bought A Village is a documentary/property series following people taking on ambitious restoration projects in historic rural settlements across Europe.

In episode six, Marc and Deirdre are introduced as new saviours aiming to bring three historic settlements together as one new village.

The following episodes will see the couple lean into traditional building methods, face a summer shutdown in France and eventually grow their villa collection with the keys to a new property.

Their appearance comes after Donegal Daily recently visited Le Moulin sur Célé to discover their life of “pleasure, not pressure” after selling Harvey’s Point, and to mark the launch of their newest romantic retreat, Le Malbec.
