Smell the coffee – Rocksalt founder Daniel McLoughlin
“My goal was to have my own business before 30, to gain all my experience in my 20s when I worked for the best of people, and to bring it back and make it my own,” says Louth food entrepreneur Daniel McLoughlin, the founder of RockSalt, which opened its latest café in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, at the end of September.
From starting out with one coffee shop in the seaside village of Blackrock, where he grew up, his business now comprises five outlets, off-site catering, and a range of healthy ready meals for sports teams and local supermarkets, employing over 100 people.
