A Ballyshannon man who was caught driving without insurance has been handed a four-year ban.
Stephen Moore appeared before Ballyshannon District Court.
The 32-year-old, of Timoney Apartments, Cloghore, Ballyshannon, was charged following an incident on December 8, 2025.
Sergeant Oliver Devaney told the court that Gardai stopped Moore at 11.30pm suspecting that he may not have insurance.
The court heard that Moore had a policy in place, but it did not cover the vehicle he was driving.
Moore has two previous convictions from 2019, one of which related to driving without insurance and for which he was disqualified from driving for two years.
Sergeant Devaney said that Moore did have a policy, which was transferred the following day.
Moore, who was not legally represented, said he accepted the charge and did not wish to address the court.

Judge Éiteáin Cunningham said the difficulty for the court was that Moore had a previous conviction for having no insurance and this meant a mandatory four-year disqualification.
Moore was fined and disqualified for four years.
Recognisance was fixed in the event of an appeal, which was subsequently lodged to the court.
