Artificial intelligence infrastructure start-up Firmus Technologies has landed a multi-year deal to sell compute capacity to ChatGPT-maker OpenAI from two of its data centres in Malaysia.
The contract is an important win for the company as it drums up interest in a highly anticipated $15.5 billion Australian sharemarket float later this year. It will mean OpenAI becomes the anchor tenant in two of its so-called AI factories in Malaysia, but does not include any commitment for Firmus’ planned Australian facilities.
