It’s the closing of a chapter but perhaps not quite the end of the story.
The Corner House bar in Ardara will encounter a changing of the guard on Sunday week next, September 20th.
For the past 26 years, the wonderful pub has been run by the McCahill and McNeilis families.
Among those who helped make the pub such an institution for many locals and visitors alike was the late and great Stephen McCahill.
However, the families have now announced that they will cease running the pub in the coming days.
A statement on the pub’s social media revealed “After almost 26 of the most wonderful years, next Sunday, September 20th, will be the last night of the McCahill McNelis Families running the Corner house.
“We invite you all to join us to reflect and celebrate on all the great times we’ve shared and as always all are welcome to join us for one last session in the corner over the weekend. “
However, the move may not mean an end to the famous Corner House.
