Ballymonean, Enniscrone, Co Sligo and formerly of Humbert St, Ballina, Co. Mayo and Kilcullen, Co. Kildare (10th September, 2026) – in her 97th year, peacefully in the exceptional care of the wonderful staff of the St. Augustine’s Nursing Home Ballina, Co. Mayo.
Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Eleshia Gallagher, her sister Clare Baxter, and her husband Paddy Baxter (Dublin), and her brother Paddy Gallagher and his wife Phyllis Gallagher (Ballymonean).
Marie will be sadly missed by nieces Maura McGinty (Ballymonean), Geraldine Lally (Castlebar), and Miriam Baxter (Dublin) and her nephews PJ Gallagher (Ballymonean), Kevin Gallagher (Drumfin, Sligo), Paul Baxter (Dublin), and Peter Baxter (Australia), grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (F26 V274) on Sunday evening, 13th September from 5:00pm with removal at 6:30pm to arrive at St. Joseph’s Church, Castleconnor (F26 P735) for 7:00pm.
Requiem Mass on Monday morning, 14th September at 11:00am with funeral proceeding to Killanley cemetery for burial.
