Ross Byrne will forever be tangled up in blue, yet the Dubliner had no doubts the time was right to leave Leinster last summer.

He spent the summer getting to know new teammates and understanding the way Gloucester want to play, knowing that he’d been signed as a senior player and would be expected to lead from the off.
