The good folks over at the racing-focused ‘Import 2 Race‘ channel on YouTube still aren’t back dwelling around their usual venue – Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey. Nevertheless, they’re not idling, and instead they’re again focusing on 65-mph roll race battles – this time around between a feisty Mustang and a host of rivals.
The cool location of the high-speed drama – with roaring engines as the soundtrack – is the legendary Pocono Raceway, a 2.5-mile tri-oval track in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania. The locale has been making memories since 1969 and has since hosted a massive lineup of events from NASCAR, the IndyCar Series, and the IMSA GT Championship series. There are also smaller shenanigans, like RaceMotive’s 65-mph series.
This videographer was eager to capture many of the battles, and following the skirmish between a black Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye of the L-bodied variety and the iconic Chevrolet Corvette, he also focused on the shenanigans involving a blue S550 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and a darker blue Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Most recently, they also captured a mighty Chevrolet Corvette Z06 of the C7 variety and a muscular Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and the 800+ hp monsters went head-to-head for no less than three battles. Now, though, it’s time to focus on a classic foe: a crimson S550 Ford Mustang GT, which took over at Pocono and fought a Supra, a Corvette, and also an M3.
The first skirmish was against a drag race-equipped Toyota Supra Mk4, while the Ford Mustang GT also craves for attention with a massive black wing around the back of its crimson body. Well, someone got cooked and smoked – both literally and figuratively, as the Ford Mustang GT started from around 60 mph and finished with a top speed of 171 mph, while the Supra kicked off the proceedings at 63 mph but only mustered an 110-mph pass while heavy smoke came out from behind the car.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a clue as to what happened with the iconic Japanese sports car because we immediately switch to the second battle, which is an all-American battle featuring the red Mustang and a blue C7 Chevrolet Corvette. This one proved to be a livelier opponent, but the Ford also increased its dominance: 175 mph versus 138 mph!
After the second win, the Blue Oval decided to take on someone from its adoptive European country, the German BMW M3, and didn’t care that it was dressed in an innocent ‘baby blue’ shade. Instead, it again showed its might at 173 mph versus 133 mph for the Bavarian representative. So, what do you think, yay or nay? Also, we really hope to see the new Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC at such events with its 795-hp 5.2-liter supercharged V8 Predator engine!
