Emergency services at scene of serious collision near Castleblayney

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the N53 near Castleblayney.

The Dundalk Road in the town has been closed following the collision that is believed to occur close to Show City on the outskirts of Castleblayney.

The incident occurred shortly after 3pm.

Gardai say as this is ongoing situation, no more information is available at this time.

The collision is being described as a serious incident and diversions are now in place and motorists are being asked to avoid the area at this time.
