The Roscommon Herald is reporting today that US media star Oprah Winfrey arrived into Ireland West Airport Knock this morning, as a substantial lakeside estate in west Roscommon has emerged as a prime property of interest in her search for an exclusive Irish retreat.
She and her real estate adviser are believed to be viewing several select properties across counties Roscommon, Mayo and Galway.
The world-renowned broadcaster is understood to have taken a particular interest in an expansive holding near the Mayo border, possibly in the Ballinlough area.
Alongside the Roscommon property, the television star and entrepreneur is also understood to have viewed two additional locations in the west, including a property in Cong, Co Mayo.
Winfrey will be in Dublin this evening for her sold-out appearance at the 3Arena.
