HIQA has raised fire safety concerns at a nursing home near Abbeydorney.
An unannounced inspection at Riverside Nursing Home found residents were happy and felt safe, with positive feedback about staff and the quality of food.
However, the centre was found not compliant with fire precautions.
The health watchdog report stated the centre was compliant with fourteen regulations, substantially compliant with five, and not compliant with one.
The inspector said residents’ personal evacuation plans did not set out the support needed for night-time evacuations.
They also found evacuation plans needed updating, and a full compartment evacuation drill had not been carried out in a long time.
An urgent compliance plan was issued over one evacuation route.
The healthcare provider said a ramp has since been repaired, new evacuation plans completed, and four full compartment evacuation drills carried out.
The inspector described the atmosphere as pleasant, saying residents were “relaxed and comfortable in their surroundings”.
