ZAGREB, 14 September 2026 – Petrol and diesel prices in Croatia will increase by €0.06 per litre from Tuesday, 15 September, under new government regulations adopted at Monday’s cabinet session.
The Croatian Government has extended its system of regulating fuel prices, with the new measures remaining in force for seven days.
Under the latest regulation, the maximum retail prices are calculated using a formula based on the basic price of fossil fuels during the previous seven-day period. The regulated premiums and excise duties remain unchanged from the previous period.
From 15 September, the maximum retail prices will be:
• Petrol: €1.73 per litre, up €0.06
• Diesel: €1.85 per litre, up €0.06
• Blue diesel: €1.40 per litre, up €0.06
• LPG for large tanks: €1.38 per kg, up €0.05
• LPG in bottles: €1.95 per kg, up €0.05
The regulation limits the permitted premium to €0.1235 per litre for petrol, €0.0945 per litre for diesel and €0.0236 per litre for blue diesel.
For LPG, the maximum premium is set at €0.9037 per kilogram for bottled LPG and €0.4416 per kilogram for LPG sold in large tanks.
The Government said that without its price-control measures, and if retail prices were allowed to be determined freely based on energy companies’ premiums and excise duties at the levels in place before the first government regulations, prices would be higher.
In that scenario, petrol would cost €1.93 per litre and diesel €2.16 per litre.
Blue diesel would reach €1.49 per litre, while LPG would cost €1.49 per kilogram for large tanks and €2.19 per kilogram for bottles.
The latest regulation takes effect on 15 September 2026 and will apply for the following seven days.
